Bay Nature Hike: Meeker Slough Birding
Description

Meet Your Hike Leaders:
Julian Wood is the San Francisco Bay Program Leader at Point Blue where he works to promote conservation actions that address climate change and land-use change in ways that benefit human and wetland bird communities throughout the Bay Area.
Meet up Location: We will meet up outside the bathrooms at the northeast end of the Marina Park Parking Lot. Marina Bay Park, Regatta Blvd & Marina Bay Parkway, Richmond, California, 94804. Google Maps Link.
Length and difficulty: This hike is approximately 2-3 miles long and is very flat. We'll be walking along almost entirely paved paths, with a brief section where we'll walk on the grass to cross through Marina Bay Park. There is very minimal elevation change during this hike.
Parking: Marina Bay Park parking lot, Regatta Blvd & Marina Bay Parkway, Richmond, California, 94804. Google Maps Link. The parking area is very large, but if it is full at the time of our hike we ask you to park residentially in the nearby neighborhoods and walk over the bathrooms to meet up with the group.
Weather Note: Because this is birding event and we're far less likely to see birds if there is rain we will plan to reschedule if there is a more than 30-40% chance of rain on the date of our event or if there is more than 0.2" of rain predicted for the day. Please keep an eye on their email inboxes the week of the event for any weather updates.
Access to restrooms and water: There are bathrooms at the very start of the hike. Please plan to bring your own water.
Other notes:
- Water bottle
- Binoculars / cameras if you'd like
- Warm and windproof layers (a vest, a beanie, gloves, etc.)

No dogs are allowed on Bay Nature hikes. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the entirety of the hike. Please keep an eye out for bikes while you're walking around Marina Bay Park.
